Owners of farms, construction sites, and large homes needed more than basic surveillance. They needed real-time access, reliable archiving, and hands-free sharing. The Defend App, built for the Tactacam Defend camera line, connects property owners directly to their assets—anytime, anywhere. It bridges the gap between passive monitoring and actionable awareness with live video, audio streaming, and smart gallery management.
Our team built the design system with speed, clarity, and scale in mind. The interface had to feel familiar to farmers and site managers alike. Clean grid layouts, clear alert hierarchies, and frictionless gallery navigation were key. We mapped key user flows—like tapping into live view or exporting a suspicious video—down to seconds. Mobile and desktop mirror each other visually for seamless switching.
With a single tap, users access live audio-video streams, tag incidents, create galleries, and send clips to others via secure share links. The system supports multi-camera setups, and premium features—like extended recording or multi-device control—can be unlocked per unit. All footage syncs automatically, and AI-tagging helps highlight potential security events. It’s not just a viewer—it’s a remote command center.
Core app access requires a subscription, while premium features (like extended storage or additional cameras) are monetized per device. This hybrid model boosted annual revenue significantly. More than hardware, the Defend App became a key driver of the business—proving that intuitive UX can turn security into a scalable service.
